Small Project for Mom

As a kid, I always took for granted the hundreds of times my Mom would patch up the many stuffed animals and clothes I would ruin from careless play. I'd go to her and say, "Mommy, can you fix this?," or "Mommy, can you help me?" She'd be overwhelmed with work or errands, but would always stop to mend my beloved belongings.

Now that I am older and more interested in sewing and other crafts, it is a comfort to be able to provide a similar service for my Mom. A couple weekends ago while I was visiting home for the weekend, my Mother told me about how inconvenient her cell phone case was. She looked to me and said, "Well, since you crochet all the time, do you think it would be much trouble if you made me a new case?"

I wasn't necessarily a joy to raise, but over the past few years, I've become more appreciative of my Mom. Making the case for her was absolutely no problem at all. I know it sounds cliche and cheesy, but I thought back to the times she would fix my belongings simply out of love.

This project is small, but I was happy to be able to make it for someone so dear to me.
